About Us

My work in the healthcare field started in 2014 when I graduated from Drake University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. I worked in community retail pharmacy for 6 1/2 years before deciding that I needed a change. Since working directly with the people I served was my passion, I decided to transition to social work. 

I began working for a family services agency providing respite, daily living skills, and parent education services for children with a variety of physical and developmental disabilities. As I progressed further in my education, I began to provide psychotherapy services as a Master of Social Work Student. 

 

In May of 2023, I graduated from Aurora University with a Master of Social Work degree and am now licensed as an Advanced Practice Social Worker in the state of Wisconsin. I have been providing services to the Rock County community through Comprehensive Community Services since the summer of 2022. 

 

I have experience working with kids, adolescents, and adults across a broad range of developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. I have experience with a variety of different services, including respite, daily living skills, individual skill development and enhancement, psychoeducation, and individual psychotherapy. My skill set includes CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. 

I have been in the Human Services field for the past 20 years working with various demographics such as adults and children with special needs, patients receiving hospice care, and the elderly. I received a BS in Human Services from Upper Iowa University in 2023 and graduated with a Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University in August 2025. I'm also a certified Reiki Master Teacher.

 

I'm dedicated to supporting individuals and families through a compassionate, strength-based, and person-centered approach. I believe that each person has unique strengths, resilience, and potential, and my goal is to empower clients by building on these inherent qualities. I'm committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their concerns, identify their strengths, and collaborate on personal goals that align with their values and aspirations.

 

Throughout my training, I have gained experience working with diverse populations, providing supportive services to individuals facing challenges such as mental health concerns, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. My person-centered approach ensures that I prioritize each client’s perspectives, preferences, and lived experiences, recognizing them as experts in their own lives. 

All my life I have wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I started working at an assisted living facility while I was still in high school. I realized that I wanted to be able to do more.

 

After graduation, I put myself through school to get my CNA certification, then spent several years working in nursing homes and other healthcare facilities. In 2022, I realized maybe healthcare was not the way I should have gone and really enjoyed helping people with their mental health needs.

 

I was introduced to Adrienne at a different agency and started working with kiddos in her youth program who had special needs through providing respite and daily living skills, as well as helping at summer camp. Adrienne saw my potential and asked if I would like to be the Supervisor of Youth Services. After becoming familiar with my new role, I realized that this is the field I was meant to be in.

 

In October 2023, Adrienne, Tony, and I decided to start Impact Family Services to further help youth in our community. Since starting our LLC, I have decided I would like to go back to school to become a licensed therapist.

 I have spent over 20 years working with both special needs youth and adults in group homes, small groups, and educational settings. I also have many years of experience in a variety of peer support situations including general counseling, supports and services, and mediation. I have the ability to maintain a calm and level-headed demeanor in both crisis and non-crisis situations and have training in nonviolent crisis intervention. I also have experience in family supports and services, IEP advocacy, and behavior support planning and developing individual-specific curriculum.

I look forward to helping out in any role I may find myself in at Impact Family Services, because I genuinely care about people and am a natural teacher and healer. I prefer to take a holistic and flexible approach to things knowing that no one thing works for everybody, and I have the ability to see things from many different perspectives.
